I try to take the kids to as many events as our schedule and my patience will allow. Going in public, much less to events, with three kids isn’t usually an easy task. When people see me out with three kids I can only imagine that they’re thinking one of three things. They either think, “Wow, she’s crazy”, “That poor woman”, or “How does she do it?”. I was at an event recently where I saw one of my friends and she called me “The Queen of Multi-Tasking”. I chuckled and told her that if I couldn’t multi-task then the kids and I would probably never leave the house. That same day we were at another event and a mom with one child in a stroller walked up to me, saw me with the three kids on the stroller, and asked, “Are all three of those yours?”. I said “Yes” and she responded with “Congratulations!”. At the time I wasn’t sure how to take it, but now that I’ve had time to process it I’m going to take it as a compliment. I’m assuming that she was thinking how does she do it with three when it can be so hard with just one. Of course some of our days are better than others. When everyone has had a good night’s rest, we manage to get the right meal and snack times, and appropriate nap times and lengths have occurred we have wonderful days. Of course this may also have something to do with the moon being correctly aligned. Other days it’s merely a dream and everyone is frazzled. On those days we cut our activities short and stick close to home.
