Not sure what 'glamping' is? Urban dictionary defines glamping as glamorous camping; luxury camping.
My family and I stayed at Myakka River State Park in a Meacham RV travel trailer. We stayed in Camper #19 which is a 2008 Wilderness. This trailer sleeps up to 10. It has a bunk room with a full sized bottom and twin top bunk, queen sofa, double bed, and a dinette bed. We were more than comfortable with the five of us and only used the master bed and bunk beds.
I have been camping many times over the years, but never like this. We were able to experience all that the Myakka River State Park had to offer, but with much more comfort then tent camping. There are very few times in Florida, with the fairly unpredictable and hot weather most of the year, that I would chance tent camping. The travel trailer comes with just about everything that you could need for a weekend away. Staying in the trailer was like staying in a hotel, but right in the middle of the woods. I have to say that after this trip I don’t think I want to camp any other way. We had a clean private toilet and air conditioning. Who doesn’t want that? Especially with kids!
We met the Meachams at the campground to get all set up. They are very efficient and we were set up and ready to go in no time. They went through the short check list of dos and don’ts and then we were on our own.
To make the outside more comfortable we were provided with four folding chairs and a large outdoor carpet. This was perfect for when we cooked over the fire and roasted marshmallows. There is a TV and DVD player in the ‘living room’ area and a comfy couch. We didn’t watch much TV, but it was nice to have available.
The kitchen has just about anything you could want. Cookware, dishes, utensils, and even a few appliances like a microwave, a coffee maker, and an electric skillet. There was microwave popcorn, coffee, and hot cocoa too. Cleaning supplies, aluminum foil, and storage bags were also supplied.
In the bathroom they provided toiletries in case you didn’t bring your own as well as towels and washcloths. The sleeping areas had sheets, some pillows, and comforters. There is plenty of storage space for clothes and other things.
Thank you to Meacham's RV for providing this travel trailer to us to do this review. All opinions are my own and I am open to any questions that you may have.
