Color Me Rad Tampa 2015

My family and I participated in the Color Me Rad 5K Tampa at the Florida State Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 18th. They promised that it was "BIGGER, BADDER, RADDER" and it certainly was. This was our third year doing it and it seems to get better every year. All of it, the stations, the colors, and of course the "swag". This year instead of sunglasses, like they've offered in past years, we received socks in our race packets. My 10 year old daughter was especially excited about those! We also got t-shirts and "RAD" tattoos. This year they also offered race t-shirts for the kiddos. Kids under 7 can run for free, but if they want the race packet it's only $10.00. Now we can all sport our "RAD" T-shirts around town.

It was a hot Florida day, but we had a blast! We went in our typical "Color Me Rad Uniform" which consists of white t-shirts and black shorts. It seems that they introduce something new each year and this year we got color gelled! This gel not only gets you very colorful it really helps to cool you down. Another addition this year was photographers and free photos! They got some really great photos.

This race is for everyone. Young, old, fit, not so fit, etc. I walked about 90% of the race, but my daughter and husband ran most of the 5K. It was a memorable experience and everyone had a great time. We've done other color runs, but Color Me Rad still stands out above the rest!
